Ohr Rachel Imenu is a non-profit organization founded in 2011 by women in the city of Betar Illit. The founder of the organization, Efrat Sharabany, established Ohr Rachel with the aim of providing hot meals to hungry children whose parents are unable to provide them with proper meals. The organization is located some nine miles from Kever Rachel, the tomb of our foremother Rachel who serves as an inspiration for the organization. Ohr Rachel is completely volunteer-based and delivers food to families in Jerusalem, Gush Etzion, and the surrounding areas.
Ohr Rachel believes that food needs to be cooked with love, that every child deserves a proper meal, and that no child is to blame for the situation.

Edicated to continuing the legacy of Rachel Imenu through compassionate service, community support, and unwavering commitment to those in need.
Our Vision
We strive for a community where no child goes hungry, no family struggles alone, and everyone celebrates life with dignity. Guided by compassion, tradition, and support, we carry forward Rachel Imenu’s legacy for generations to come.
Our Mission
We support orphans, aid struggling families, and strengthen our community through food distribution, wedding assistance, holiday celebrations, education, and kitchen programs—rooted in tradition, compassion, and the spirit of giving
Our Activities
Ohr Rachel’s meals are cooked using high-quality, nutritious, and unprocessed food. The organization provides freshly-cooked meals a year to orphans, children of sick parents, and struggling families with a low socioeconomic status. Ohr Rachel ensures that no child goes to sleep hungry. The organization’s kitchen provides daily lunches, including for Shabbat and holidays. All of the meals are carefully packaged and are hand-delivered to the homes of those in need in order to preserve the dignity and spirit of the children
